I’ve recently gotten into sculpting with clay, and as such, I’ve made a custom figure out of a Mannequin, which are those wooden doll-things that are ususally used for artists to sketch the human shape. The mannequin proved to be perfect for me, providing just the right shape for Samus. Unfortunatlly, this was my first time molding with clay, thus it might not be perfect. However, I believe it came out pretty well.
I used Sculpty III clay to mold all the parts, then baked them in an oven to make them hard. After that, I used glue to put them on the model, and the last step was painting the parts. (I later learned in other projects that it’s wiser to paint it parts before gluing it on; despite the fact that it’s a bit harder.) The pieces that were sculpted on this figure were the arm cannon, shoulders, knee caps, ankle guards, circular parts on the side of the leg, sides of the head, and thrusters on the back. I used a diffrent set of paints that differ from what I usually use on this project. The paints were Aple Barrel Gloss “Real Yellow“, Decoart Metallic “Festive Green“, Americana “Bright Orange“, Aplpe Barrel Gloss “Real Red“, and Folkart “Metallic Sequin Black”.
It took two long weeks to complete this project, but I believe that the Mannequin provides the perfect base. If an ametur like me can make this, then anybody can. I’ve long since moved on to other projects now, such as a smaller, 4 inch Gravity Suit figure, and also a cute little Kirby with a Samus helmet.

Oh gosh… Those proportions are seriously creepy… Besides, why did you have to use a mannequin?
oh come off it…I’m making a perfectly proportioned statue right now, but that’ll take a while due to the massive amounts of clay required.
Just wont to let you now your top pic not coming in. MMMM!?!?! I have no comment on your Custom Mannequin Varia Suit Samus.
